You just rejoiced a big day. May be you just got married or it was your anniversary. May be a new baby entered your world or you just got promotion. On all these special days you have received presents or gifts from your family members and friends. Now you need to do the difficult task of sending out thank you note cards in appreciation of all gifts you got. Here are some tips to write thank you notes: -
• Make list of all the presents you got and also the names of guests who presented them as soon as possible. It is best to make use of spreadsheet to have record of visitors and their gifts. If you are at function and any other person is opening the gifts given to you, make sure note which present was gifted by whom. One beneficial way is to write the name of the guest on any self-adhesive label and affix it to the gift so that you could easily remind the name of gift giver.
• Try to send out thank you note as early as possible in order not to make the guest conjecturing whether you got the present or not. If it is not possible so early, try to send them thankful e-mail followed by thank you card. Remember, never use e-mail as an alternative for thank you card.
• After completing your list encompassing name of giver, make sure that you have address of all of them. If some addresses are missing then ask visitors to provide you with their correspondence address as it will give you one more opportunity to update your contact list.
• Try to purchase a suitable thank you card. These days, many varieties of designs and styles are available for thank you cards, but you have to choose the one that goes well with your budget. If you want to give it a personal touch, there are many online sites that offer different ways to customize your cards.
• Another important step is to write thank you note with hand as it allows giver to make sure that you have given attention to their gifts and appreciate them as well. Make sure the text you write must be visible and readable. Do not scribble whatever you write and also do not overwrite anything that will make it difficult for reader to read.
Finally, while writing thank you note cards, make sure to use black or blue ink. Although there are many options available in ink colors, yet black and blue are the most appropriate options to write thank you notes.
